Rick Mercer's 100 tonne mental challenge

Every time you see a CBC pollution or clean air act article on the tube, look carefully to see whether the pollution dissapates within a few hundred metres from the smokestack. You will notice that it invariably does dissipate (dissappear). That's because of current emissions legislation. The only visible vapour you will see (except for short dirty bursts which should be reported to authorities by the way) is steam, AKA water vapour, like your breath on a wintery day. Get real Canada!

Ironically, water vapour is a more important green house gas than CO2 by a long shot. Fortunately it's easy to trap by chilling and could produce a salable product - bottled distilled water. I think it tastes nasty myself but to each her own.

Next time you see the pollution video bite, think steam - water vapour - it dissipates! Like your breath. Think more critically.

Sincerely yours,

Fran
